My dear friend Alexis left me a comment on Facebook asking my what I wanted for my 30th birthday.
Good question, Alexis. What do I want?
Truth be told, there isn't much I need. Which is where I take that question first. When asked I immediatley think, "Oh how sweet of them to ask. I don't need anything! Aww Shucks!"
I already am so blessed to have most everything I need. Loving, supportive, fun friendships and family, a job that connects me to people and is in a great place, air to breathe, the ability just to get up and walk every day, wisdom from past expereinces. I could go on...
But Alexis didn't ask me what I needed, she asked me what I wanted to mark this momentous occassion of turning 30. This is a Golden Opportunity to examine what I want. Soooo....
What do I want....
World peace.
Equality for all people.
For my body to become perfectly balanced and the weight to magically drop off.
To wake up everyday feeling beautiful and desirable.
For eyes that don't look wonky or crossed in certain angles in pictures.
To always be articualte.
A perfect pair of jeans.
Boots that flatter my muscular calfs and make me feel sexy.
A boyfreind who is everything I am looking for and some things I never knew I wanted.
More hours in the day.
White sparkly teeth.
Un-sensitive skin.
Balanced hormones.
But Alexis, I know those weren't the things you were expecting me to request. I do understand the desire to make a purchase for an object or service that you know would bring the recipient joy.
I feel a little awkward in making any request, because I myself am a terrible gift-giver. I always remember a person's birthday, and I almost always remember to call/sing with a birthday wish. But what do I get them? What perfect gift can I give them to express how glad I am to know them and that they are born and to commemorate that day?!!!
So, I googled wish list websites, and took some time to think about what I wanted to put on it. It can serve simply as inspiration- I don't need to have some of the items exactly as they are listed. Here is the link:

Maybe it might be fun for all of my friends and family to start one. That way in the event that we want to buy a gift, we have a place to check out each other's wishes.
I am by no means suggesting a gift is necessary. Really just your presence alone in my life is gift enough. Truly. However, if you feel inclined- I would love it just as much. Oh and let me say too that handmade gifts are ALWAYS appreciated.
